Personal statement

I joined Autism Network Scotland in March 2014 as a Network Advisor. Autism Network Scotland connects and communicates with individuals on the autistic spectrum, their families and carers, and practitioners working in the field of autism. We serve as a hub of reliable and impartial information, signposting people to supports, resources and useful information. I have a background managing housing support services for adults with autism and learning disabilities. My most recent role, before joining the Autism Network Team, was coordinating volunteers for a self-advocacy group for adults with autism and learning disabilities. I graduated from Queen Margaret University in 2005 with an honours degree in Psychology with Media and Cultural Studies. My specific areas of interest include effective advocacy for adults with autism, autism awareness amongst all support providers, ensuring positive transitions for people with autism and the positive effects of music for everyone.
